Vector Wiki

Vector is a science-fiction FPS similar to Planetside, except there is one team of players, and the other teams consist of AI. Gameplay will be similar to large-scale Co-Op missions of Arma, with elements of space games such as Mass Effect, Warframe and Planetside 2.

Plot[]

The game is set in the Whirlpool Galaxy , a spiral galaxy at least 21 million light years away from the Milky Way.

Gameplay[]

Vector will be a dynamic co-op experience, meaning that every mission is different. Players will be able to take control of fighters in the air, infantry on the ground or tanks as well as buggies. Friendly AI will take control of dropships (reinforcements) and buggies as well. Enemy AI will do the same except with fighters/tanks. Everything counts in Vector (Ex., say a friendly dropship is coming in to drop reinforcements. If this dropship is shot down by the enemy, players will recieve an objective to find survivors of the dropship and bring them back to an LZ). Also, in each mission, there is a random chance for a random dynamic element to appear (Ex., artillery. Or maybe a large enemy convoy will be coming toward them and players will get a new objective to destroy/intercept it). The game will NOT be F2P. Players get new weapons/upgrades by completing certain challenges.

Players will start in a random ship, among other players. They can then set out to do random missions to gain XP or follow a custom, random, dynamic story throughout many different systems of planets.

Classes[]

Classes in Vector are what the player chooses when they first create a character.

  • Rifleman - Versatile, well balanced class for players looking for a general FPS gameplay experience.
  • Marksman - For players who want to fight from long-range, offering support for their team. This class only gets upgrades that pertain to long range fighting and support.
  • Pilot - For the player who wants to experience the game from the sky, pilots are given a free fighter at the beginning of their campaign.

Platoons[]

Main Article: Platoons

Players will have the ability to form up large groups and gain Platoon XP. Platoon XP is gained by completing difficult missions as a whole group. As platoons gain XP, they are presented with the option to complete special missions. Special missions are similar to raids in WoW, except really, REALLY hard.

Missions[]

Each level will be designed with every single mission-type in mind. Up to three mission types will be included in each game, randomly selected. There will also be specific mission types for specific levels.

Player Progression[]

Main Article: Progression

Players will earn XP points by completing missions with a certain score, completing challenges and using proper teamwork/strategy. When enough experience is accumulated, the player is promoted to the next level and rewarded with points to spend on unlocking and upgrading weapons, vehicles and abilities.
